Katherine Hughes, a writer, director, and actor from New York and currently based in Los Angeles, has spent the past decade immersed in on-set experience as an actor. Some of her on-screen appearances include Sundance Winning, Me, Earl & The Dying Girl, Byron Balasco’s Kingdom, Apple TV’s Echo 3, and Hulu’s Tell Me Lies. Her directorial debut, Yellow Belt Fury, showcased her talent and opened doors to opportunities as an emerging director including securing financing for upcoming projects, writing assignments with major studios, and a development deal for her first feature. Drawing inspiration from filmmakers like Edgar Wright along with dark comedy and feminine gore from writers like Diablo Cody, Katherine is passionate about high-concept film and television and aims to collaborate with established brands and artists. In 2022, Katherine became one of the founders of Not Your Daddy’s Films, a social impact organization committed to elevating and educating female and non-binary creatives through screenings, panels, and workshops. She is currently studying gender and film at UCLA.
